Update.
We hope to secure the venue by 22nd June (TCSH).
I will be attaching the sponsorship letter given to us by World Vision into our email. So look into the email if you need it. And if you need the email address and password, email me at yingyi6@hotmail.com cause I don't wanna post it up for the world to see.
Also, we need to decide quick how many shirts we want if we are getting it from World Vision as they only have 4000 shirts for sale at RM5. However, if we manage to secure our own sponsor, we will need to submit out T-shirt design to World Vision for approval before printing.
That's about it I think.
Once we've got a venue, we can sort out the rest of the camp already.
Thanks,
Weng Yee.

suggested games
Untangle Me!
Groups are to form a circle, class councilors will then mix their hands up. The group must then try and “untangle” their hands and form a complete circle with everyone facing inside/outside the circle.
Treasure Hunt
There will be figures hidden in a dark room where the students will have to find
Take Territory
The students will be divided into two groups where they had to run along a route. When they meet each other at a point, they will have to play the game ‘Scissors, Paper, Stone’. The winner will continues the route while the loser will go back and its team will send another representative.
Ducks and Crocodiles
Pupils will be split into groups. They are supposed to stand on benches and try to reach the other end. They are to do so only by transporting benches and cannot step onto the ground (infested by crocodiles). Obstacles will be placed on the floor (Chairs, tables, heart shapes).
Marks will be awarded according to the time they take to complete the task.
Growing up
-At the beginning, everybody is an egg.
-An egg plays ‘Scissors, Paper, Stone’ with another egg.
-If the pupil wins, he/she will become a chick. If he loses, he remains as an egg.
-A chick will look for another chick to play with, not an egg or chicken.
-EggàChickàChickenàRooster
Wacko
The whole class will form a circle and everyone will take turns to introduce themselves. One student (wacko) will be appointed to stand in the middle of the circle with the wacko stick. The leader will start by calling a name of a person sitting in the circle. The “wacko” will have to hit the student whose name has been called. Before being hit, the student will have to shout out another student’s name. This will go on until the stick has hit someone. The student who has been hit will take over the place of the “wacko” after doing a forfeit [thought by the whole group].
Pass the Hoop
The class will be split into two groups and each group will form a line. If the students feel shy about holding the hands of the opposite gender, councilors can go in between. Class councilor will give the first a hoop and he/she will have to pass it to the next person without letting go of the person’s hand. The game goes on and it will be more challenging as more hoops are passed down.
3-legged race
Students will be paired up and legs tied together so they will only have “3 legs”. They are to race and compete to see who can go to and fro first. Can be more challenging by tying more peoples’ legs together.
Balloon Fight
Every student will blow two balloons and tie them to their legs with raffia string. The students are to step on each other’s balloons to burst them. The last remaining student with at least one balloon unharmed will be the winner.
Broken Telephone
Students will stand in 2-4 different straight lines with their backs facing the Station Master. The Station Master will then tell the first student a line a phrase. (eg. The Earth is round)
The student is supposed to act it out without talking to the next pupil. This goes on until the last person. The last pupils will tell the Station Masters the phrase. The group nearest to the phrase will win.
Ping Pong Balls
One group member will hold onto a basket while the other members attempt to throw ping-pong balls into it. Each ping-pong ball must bounce on the ground once before getting into the basket.
Thanks(:

Anyhow, we're only a little bit away from our goal. At the beginning when we planned this, we hoped to raise RM30k from 200 participants.
But lately we didn't really think we'd make it as we didn't give out 200 donation cards and some cards came back empty. However, I'm very proud to announce that we've collected
We'll be having a briefing after school for all those attending the famine till 4.30p.m on Wednesday. If you can't make it please let one of us know as we'll be passing out some pretty important stuff during the briefing.
Also to those coming, please don't forget to give back your consent forms. Non-F5's please see Stephanie Cheng of 4D.
Thanks,
Weng Yee
P.S And why am I the only who ever updates the blog??

Small update.
For lower sec, the booth will only be open during break.
For upper sec, the booth will only be open during lunch.
Also, the deadline for the donation cards to be returned has been extended to August 1st 2008.
And to those who already have a donation card, I know we told you that if you lose the card you'll be fined RM50. Now on top of that, a police report will be made to ensure that the donation card and the money is not 'embezzled' or used for the wrong purposes. Please remember that this is all in the name of charity so do listen to your conscience.
That's all for now,
Weng Yee.

Thursday, July 17, 2008
Let's get it started.
We'll be giving it out during break tomorrow for those who are interested.
Please take note that this is an event organised by us as individuals and that it is not related to Sri KDU at all. However, only Sri KDU students, teachers and their family members are allowed to participate as this camp is not open to the public. So please do not ask friends from other schools. There are public camps that anyone can join if they are interested.
- The venue will be at Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort. Time will be 10.00a.m.(23rd August) till 4.00p.m. the next day(24th August).
- Minimum donation is RM100 but collecting more is encouraged.
- If you lose a donation card, the fine is RM50 so please take care of the card properly.
- You are only allowed to ask for donations from friends and families. Please do not go around your neighbourhood ringing people's door bells and asking for money. And do not stand in the middle of a shopping complex and ask for donations. These are all illegal as you need a liscence to collect donations from the public like that.
- Any individual who has health problems such as gastric are not encouraged to join the famine as we don't want to send anyone to the hospital in the middle of camp.
That's about it for now. For more details please don't hesitate to email us or see any one of us in school.

D.I.Y Camp
On the 10th Year Anniversary Famine A record-breaking 10,000 sponsors, donors, volunteers and campers took part in the largest camp ever. Also, the Famine spread its wings to East Malaysia for the first time!
This year, World Vision Malaysia is taking the famine to greater heights by giving people all around West Malaysia the chance to organize their own D.I.Y(Do It Yourself) camps.
Lasting 26 hours, DIY Famine Camps give an insight into the world of poverty in a fun and experiential way.
All campers will then come together at Bukit Jalil Stadium for an exciting 4-hour Famine Countdown event.
We will be sorting out all the nitty gritty details of planing the famine so all you have to do is raise RM100, bring yourself to the venue and give up food for 30 hours.
We'll be giving out the donation cards real soon so do spread the word among your friends as spaces are limited.
Get the hype up!
We'll be updating this blog as we get more details about the camp sorted out so check back often!
